Holocaust Remembrance Days in Podkarpacie will be held this year for the seventeenth time, from January 20th to 30th. In addition to the main organizers, Prof. Wacław Wierzbieniec, the University of Rzeszow, and the Institute of National Remembrance Rzeszow Branch, many local authorities, schools, and cultural institutions are involved in preparing the commemorative events. In many villages and towns of our region, there will be prayers for the murdered Jews, lectures, conferences, exhibitions, and meetings with the Survivors or their descendants.
We invite you to the Municipal and Communal Public Library in Blazowa on Wednesday, January 22nd at 5:00 p.m. Marta Wójcik will take us on a journey in the footsteps of the Rzeszow Jewish community. Our esteemed guests: Tamar and Szmuel Halpern (Israel), Jeffrey Cymbler (USA), and Sally Mizroch (USA), will talk about their Galician roots and the fate of their families during the Holocaust. Another story about Jewish cuisine will also be told, through words and dishes, by our editorial colleague Czesława Szydełko.
